The Mount Zion Middle School FBLA attended the Region 7 Leadership Conference at Heard County High School on January 30, 2018 where they placed 2nd for Largest Local Chapter Membership Region 7. The following members placed in the top 5 in individual events at region and will advance to the FBLA Middle Level State Conference in Perry, Ga. in February: Caleb Morse placed 1st in Social Media Concepts and 3rd in Business Spelling; Nathan Cowart placed 2nd in Career Exploration and 4th in Business Spelling; Hunter Parsons placed 3rd in Business Math & Financial Literacy and 4th in Computer & Internet Concepts; Sarah Grace Holt placed 3rd in Marketing Concepts and 5th in Social Media Concepts; Abby Richardson placed 3rd in Elevator Speech; Madison Brown placed 4th in Business Concepts; and Gabriel Amaya placed 4th in Career Exploration. The team event winners are as follows: Gabriel Amaya, Makylee Ayers, and Elizabeth Becerra placed 2nd in Invention Convention. The team was required to develop an innovative product, marketing materials, and a video sales pitch.

All members who participated placed in the top 10 in at least one event. The principal of Mt. Zion Middle School is Ms. Connie Robison, and the FBLA adviser is Mrs. Tewanna Brown.
