Flowers Foods, Inc. recalls Swiss Rolls sold under the brand names Mrs. Freshley’s, Food Lion, H-E-B, Baker’s Treat, Market Square, and Great Value, distributed nationwide, and Captain John Derst’s Old Fashioned Bread distributed in GA, AL, FL, NC & SC due to the potential for Salmonella in an ingredient, whey powder. The ingredient recall was initiated by a third-party whey powder manufacturer and supplier.
Utz® Quality Foods, LLC., recalls select expiration dates of Utz® Carolina Style Barbeque Potato Chips in both 2.875 and 7.5 oz packages due to undeclared soy allergen. This recall was initiated after learning a certain number of packages were mislabeled. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to soy run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products.
The Pictsweet Company recalls Pictsweet Farms 12-oz Steam’ables Baby Brussels Sprouts because they may contain undeclared allergens (milk and soy). The package has UPC code 0 70560 97731 9 and a “BEST IF USED BY MAY 30, 2020.”
Smithfield Packaged Meats Corp. recalls pepperoni five cheese calzones that may be contaminated with extraneous materials (pieces of hard, sharp, clear plastic). The 8-oz. deli tray of “Stefano’s Calzone PEPPERONI FIVE CHEESE STUFFED WITH PEPPERONI AND A FIVE CHEESE BLEND,” with “Lot Code 14318B” on the individual packages and “USE BY DATE 1/18/2019” on the product cases are being recalled. They feature establishment number “EST. M-19140” inside the USDA mark of inspection. These items were shipped to retail stores nationwide.
