Do you or someone you know live with an ongoing health problem? There are ways to gain control of symptoms and live a better, healthier life.
Tanner Health System’s Get Healthy, Live Well is offering a free, six-session Living Well Workshop to help participants and caregivers manage any health condition, including — but not limited to — arthritis, being overweight, cancer, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), depression, fibromyalgia, heart disease, high blood pressure, lung disease, multiple sclerosis and stroke.
The next Living Well Workshop will begin Tuesday, Oct. 2, at 10 a.m. in the College Room at First Baptist Church of Villa Rica.
Research studies have shown that people who completed the workshop experience a more active lifestyle, better health and less time in the hospital. Attendees and their caregivers will learn ways to manage your symptoms with the support of trained coaches and other workshop attendees facing similar health concerns.
The Living Well Workshop can help participants learn effective strategies to deal with symptoms, cope with pain, improve nutrition through healthy eating, gain skills in managing medications and work through feelings of anger, fear or frustration. The workshop can also help improve communication with family, friends and health professionals.
