What: The Georgia Presidential Preference Primary is being postponed and will resume in conjunction with the May 19 the general primary already scheduled for that date, Secretary Raffensperger announced Saturday following Gov. Kemp’s order of a state public-health emergency.

Why: Health experts recommend avoiding groups and close contact during the coronavirus outbreak, and most of Georgia’s poll workers necessary for the smooth running of fair and accurate elections are in the high-risk age group, as well as the high-risk the coronavirus presents to all Georgia voters.

When:  Monday, March 16, 11 a.m.
