Douglasville, GA – Chairman Dr. Romona Jackson Jones and the Douglas County Board of Commissioners unveiled a new website hub to help keep the public informed of the latest information on COVID-19, also known as the coronavirus. The Douglas County Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Department working in conjunction with the Communications and Community Relations Department launched the website this week.
The website address is https://coronavirus-response-douglas-county-douglasgis.hub.arcgis.com/. Members of the public are encouraged to continue visiting www.celebratedouglascounty.com as well for county government service updates regarding information on the coronavirus.
“We are working feverishly around the clock to help people stay informed on how the COVID-19, coronavirus is affecting all of our lives,” Chairman Jones said. “Offering one place to virtually visit we feel will keep people plugged in around the clock in this constant revolving health crisis.”
“With this idea in mind we created a website that displays local, state, and national statistics that update several times a day,” Ed Dean, Manager of Douglas County Geographical Information Systems. “We also included maps and links to additional resources like the CDC and Georgia Department of Public Health to assist the user to find the information they are seeking.”
