Carrollton, GA—Carroll Electric Membership Cooperative is currently monitoring the potential for severe weather Sunday afternoon through Monday morning. The cooperative has entered level one of its Emergency Response Plan and all employees are on-call to work through the next few days.

The cooperative and surrounding communities are weathering two storms. With the preventative health measures in place to limit the spread of COVID-19, restoration efforts may take longer than usual. However, Carroll EMC employees are prepared to respond to outages and ready to begin restoring power as quickly as possible if needed. In the event power is interrupted, members should immediately report the outage. To report an outage, use the Carroll EMC mobile app, visit carrollemc.com or call 770-832-3552 (option 1). Please follow Carroll EMC on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram for live updates.

Fallen power lines can also result from strong wind and rain. All individuals are urged to stay far away from downed power lines because they can still be energized. Coming into contact with an energized line could produce a serious injury or even death. Anyone who sees a downed power line should immediately report it by calling Carroll EMC.
