Senior Cloey Gilham was awarded the Carroll County Cattlemen’s Association $1,000 Scholarship at the Cattlemen’s June 18 meeting. Cloey is a senior at Temple high school and is highly involved with her high school’s FFA chapter and the Ag department.
Cloey says “[her] background in agriculture has allowed me to gain knowledge in various fields involving agriculture and has taught me many life skills needed in the real world.”
Cloey lives on a farm where she raises goats, pigs, donkeys, chickens, bees, and horses. She also has background knowledge in horticulture as well. Throughout her Ag career in high school, she has been involved in many career development events, including livestock judging, poultry judging, wildlife management, and employability skills.
Cloey says “being involved in my FFA chapter and Mr. Cherry’s Ag classes as well as attending Carroll County Young Farmers meetings has helped me make the decision to be an agricultural educator. Education is very important to me and I strive for excellence in academics and hope to help others achieve this as well.”
After she graduates high school, Cloey plans to attend West Georgia Tech and then transfer to Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College (ABAC) to pursue a degree in agricultural education.
We would like to congratulate Cloey on her many accomplishments and wish her the best of luck on her future endeavors in agriculture.
