On Saturday July 4, 2020 Robert B. Husby, loving father and a devoted Christian, passed away at the age of 89.  Robert was born December 23, 1930 to the late Bernt and Alice Husby in Graceville, MN.  Robert grew up farming until joining the Army and being stationed in Atlanta where he met his wife, Peggy Bolton Husby.  After the Army Robert became an Auto Mechanic where he worked for Checker Cab in Chicago,

Boomershine Pontiac in Atlanta, and even had his own garage in Lithia Springs, GA.  In the late 1950’s Robert learned to fly and how to work on airplanes.  In the mid 1960’s Robert worked for Delta Airlines as a Mechanic until he moved to Carrollton to be Operations Manager of Carrollton Flying Service.  While running the Airport in Carrollton, he would give Flying lessons, and taught many people around Carroll County, how to fly.  After giving up as Operations Manager of the Airport in Carrollton, Robert flew and done mechanical work on Southwire’s planes.  In the 1980’s Robert gave up flying and went to work with his friend Jack Richardson laying floor covering until he Simi-retired and worked for his son Robert Wayne Husby doing Electrical and Landscaping.  After retiring Robert enjoyed doing Bible Studies and Teachings on the Bible.  His understanding of the Bible was greatly influenced after taken a trip to Israel.

Robert Husby is preceded in death by his son Darrell Husby and brother William Husby.  Robert is survived by his wife of 68 years, Peggy Husby, sister Ida Campbell, sons Robert Wayne Husby and Kenneth and Margaret Husby.  Grand Children, Josh and Amber, Joe and Tina, John and Micah, Jordan and Jada, Jenna, and Christian Husby.  Great Grandchildren, Tristan Husby, Ashton Husby, Axel Husby, Jordan Fritz, Austin Husby, Kane Husby, Natalie Husby, Lila Husby, Jacob Husby, Mason Husby, River Husby and Taren Husby.

Funeral service will be conducted Wednesday, July 8, 2020 at 2:00 PM from Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel with Rev. George Burroughs officiating. Interment will follow in the Carrollton City Cemetery with Jordan Husby, Christian Husby, Josh Husby, Johnny Husby, Joe Husby, and Austin Husby serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, July 7, 2020 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
