Wilmer Carlos Fuller, age 98, of Carrollton, Georgia, passed away on Monday, September 18, 2023.   He was born September 8, 1925, in Clem, Georgia, the son of Morton Jefferson Fuller and Mrs. Mary Alice Gladney Fuller.

Mr. Carlos proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy during World War II. From December 1943- May 1946 he served as a Navy Corpsman. He served with the 3rd Marine Division in Guam and Iwo Jima from 1944-1945.  

Carlos graduated in 1953 from Southern College of Pharmacy, which is now Mercer University School of Pharmacy, where he was a Phi Delta Chi Fraternity member.

He began working at Jacobs Drugs in Atlanta while in college and continued his career there after graduation. Jacobs Drugs was the first drug store in Atlanta to serve Coca-Cola. Mr. Carlos went on to become a service representative at Wyeth Labs for several years, before buying a small retail pharmacy in Tucker, Georgia. He and his wife, Ruth Lee Bowen Fuller, who was also an R Ph, worked at that pharmacy together for 11 years. After they sold the retail pharmacy, Mr. Carlos worked at the Kroger Pharmacy until his retirement in 1987.  

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Ruth Lee Bowen Fuller, and his son, Joseph Frank Fuller.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his children, David & Kim Fuller, Nancy Susan Ross, Jon & Michelle Fuller, and Mosha Fuller; grandchildren, Christopher Fuller, Nathan Ross, Jessica & Colton Pollard, and Lydia & Nathan Blackburn; sister-in-law & brother-in-law, Terry & Terry Augsburger; and nephew & niece, Lee & Sarah Augsburger.

Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, September 24, 2023, at 2:00 PM from the Chapel of Martin & Hightower Funeral Home, with Pastor Sam Braswell officiating.  Interment will follow in Carrollton City Cemetery with the American Legion Post #143 rendering military honors and members of the Buck Creek Masonic Lodge #410 F&AM rendering Masonic Rights.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, September 23, 2023, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
