Charles Earl Taylor, Jr. “Chad” met the Jesus he loved so on August 15, 2024.

He was born November 22, 1971, to Charles Earl Taylor “Chuck” and Kathy Bowman Taylor in Carrollton, Georgia.

He loved studying the Bible, music (anything from The Gaither Vocal Band to Petra to Bon Jovi or Pavarotti)- really loud, Alabama football, the Atlanta Braves, Top Gun, Batman, Star Wars and the beach.

He was funny and sarcastic- a master of impersonations and making people laugh.

He also loved his people.

His daddy was his best friend, his coach and his golf partner.

His mother and sister were his biggest encouragers.

And, his boys, if a man ever loved his sons- Chad Taylor loved Josh and Chipper.

Josh and Chipper then gave him two grand boys to love: Jameson and Wyatt.

He was married and built a family with his first wife, Nerissa who proceeded him in death and, in the way that only God can write a story, he reconnected with Cheri and they shared a love – only understood- after great loss.

He spent the majority of his career in the car business… but, recently had fulfilled a lifelong dream and opened a restaurant, Mama Ruby’s.

He loved the cooking, and watching the people enjoy their meals & his favorite was sharing breakfast at “the liars table.”

He lived his life – in a way that honored those he loved and the one he loved most, Jesus, and he was welcomed home to Heaven with, “Well Done.”

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Cheri Taylor; children Joshua and Heather Taylor of Bremen, Jamie and Shawn Tietze of San Antonio, Texas, Charles Earl “Chipper” and Delanie Taylor of Bremen, Nathan and Rosie Brorsen, Daniel Brorsen and Elijah Brorsen, all of Brownsville, Texas and Anna Elizabeth Brorsen of Carrollton; a sister, Kasey and Chris Bridges; nephews Luke and Bo Bridges and grandchildren, Jameson Taylor and Wyatt Taylor.

Services will be held on Sunday, August 18, 2024 at 3:00 PM from the Chapel of Hightower Funeral Home with Brother Kevin Ayers officiating. Chad Crews, Luke Bridges, Mitchell Bumgarner, J.R. McElroy, Britt Fike, and Brad Bowman will serve as pallbearers.

Mr. Donnie Lively and the 1982 West Georgia Braves National Championship Football team will serve as honorary pallbearers.
