The Carrollton Kiwanis Club Foundation awarded $ 1,500 in scholarships to competitors in the juried music showcase on Sunday, February 5, 2023, at Carrollton’s Center for the Arts.

In the juried music showcase, Yujean Shin was awarded first place and a five hundred dollar scholarship for her clarinet performance of Capriccio for Unaccompanied Clarinet in A by Heinrich Sutermeister.  Yujean is a senior at Bremen High School.

Skylar Elizabeth Hundley was awarded second place and a four hundred dollar scholarship for her vocal performance of Un moto di gioia, K. 579, by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.  Skylar is a senior at Carrollton High School.

Eden Geise was awarded third place and a three hundred dollar scholarship for her piano performance of Winter by Antonio Vivaldi.  Eden is a junior at Pleasent Hill Academy.

Emily Grace Hicks was awarded fourth place and a two hundred dollar scholarship for her flute performance of Romance by Georges Brun, Op. 41.  Emily is a sophomore at Carrollton High School.

Tai Benjamin Jackson was awarded fifth place and a one hundred dollar scholarship for his vocal performance of Amarilla mia bella by Giullo Caccini.  Tai is a senior at Carrollton High School. 

Madison Gail Brown was recognized as honorable mention for her vocal performance of Nel cor piu non mi sento, arranged by Giovanni Paisello.  Madison is a senior at Carrollton High School.
