Michael Leon Deskin

Michael Leon Deskin, age 60, of Mt. Zion, Georgia, passed away on Friday, August 21, 2026. 

He was born on January 30, 1966, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Michael lived a life celebrated for his unwavering love for family, his professional dedication, and his passions that brought him joy.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Emily Bryant Deskin; his children, Laci and Caleb Thompson, Zachary Deskin and Levi Deskin; his grandchildren, Cash Thompson and Livi Thompson; his brothers, Jim Deskin, Shane Deskin and Joe Deskin; his father, Leon and Linda Deskin; along with many other relatives and friends who loved him dearly.

Michael was preceded in death by his mother, Sandra Holland.

Professionally, Michael made a significant impact as a Technical Service Specialist at Axalta, where his expertise was respected and appreciated. He approached his work with the same passion he brought to his personal life. Michael was a dedicated fan of the University of Oklahoma Football and Softball teams, often found cheering for his favorite players and teams. He cherished the outdoors, finding solace in fishing where he could unwind and connect with nature.

Family gatherings were a highlight for Michael, as he truly treasured the moments spent with his loved ones. His children and his grandchildren were his pride and his joy.  He also enjoyed spending time with his brothers, with whom he had an inseparable bond. His infectious laughter and kind heart left a lasting impression on all who knew him. 

The family will receive friends at New Hope Methodist Church on Saturday, August 29, 2026, from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM.

A memorial service to celebrate Michael’s life will follow at 1:00 PM in the church with Pastor Sam Robison officiating and Bro. Butch Thornton delivering the eulogy.
