Darrell R. Jeter, age 85 of Carrollton, passed away Friday, June 1, 2018. He was born August 11, 1932 in the Burwell Community, son of the late Ernest L. Jeter and Doris Craven Jeter.
He attended Burwell Middle School and was a Bowdon High School graduate. He retired from the United States Air Force as Sr. Master Sergeant after having served for more than 22 years, and then began his 25 year career working at Southwire Company where he was instrumental in Design and Development of the Cofer Center.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by an infant sister, Linda Jeter; brother, Donnie D. Jeter; and a sister, Betty Carol Knight.
He is survived by his loving wife, Libby Jeter of Carrollton; children, David R. Jeter (Patrice) of Woodstock, GA and Donna Conner (Jimmie) of Collins, GA; sister, Sara Nell Snow; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be conducted Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at 1:00 PM from Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel. Interment will follow in Shiloh United Methodist Church Cemetery with the United States Air Force performing military honors. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday, June 4, 2018 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM.
