Janice D. Tutton, age 57 of Oxford, Georgia, passed away Sunday, August 26, 2018. She was born April 29, 1961 in Carroll County, Georgia, daughter of Jimmie R. Gammon and the late Jimmie Swearingane Gammon.
Janice passed peacefully, surrounded by her loving family after complications related to a radioactive spider bite led to years of crime fighting and a 13-year long battle with her arche nemesis ovarian cancer, a scourge on society for far too long. She fought holding nothing in reserve. As a superhero many of her victories will forever remain classified. But she will be forever remembered by each of the many lives she touched as a Christ centered, avid animal lover and grounded, strait talking rock of a woman that was always there for those that needed her with the right thing to say or do, no matter the circumstances. She will be greatly missed.
In addition to her father, she is survived by her husband, Johnny Tutton of Oxford, GA; brothers, Clay and Brandy Gammon of Tallapoosa, and Richard Gammon and Melanie Spears of Carrollton; numerous nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be conducted Saturday, September 1, 2018 at 11:00 AM from Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel.
Interment will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers: Floyd Anglin, Greg Swearingane, Walter Gammon, Kyle Mooneyham, Tiffany Leslie, and Robbie Swearingane.
The family will receive friends on Friday, August 31, 2018 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM from Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel.
