The Carrollton Center for the Arts will celebrate the 15th anniversary of the Arts Festival of Carrollton with a free concert at The AMP, October 13th.
“The Apostles of Bluegrass are the perfect act to play the arts festival’s birthday bash,” said Arts Superintendent Tim Chapman. “The band has excellent musicians and the lyrics, antics and interaction with the audience make their show a real party.”

The Apostles of Bluegrass is not a traditional bluegrass band. The trio has played their unique mix of hard-driving bluegrass and humorous original songs all over the South, from church revivals to honky tonks, and electrified the television and radio airwaves.

Band leader and Georgia native Johnny Roquemore was Creative Loafing Magazine critics’ choice for “Best Local Singer/Songwriter” in Atlanta. Dubbed the “Minstrel of Malibu” for his 30-year stint in the California music scene, he now lives on the family farm in Mansfield. John Nipper plays banjo, mandolin and harmonica and is a native of Newton County, Ga. Originally from the Chicago area, Dave Ross plays the big blue upright bass and the Dobro.

The Arts Festival of Carrollton is presented by the Carrollton Artist Guild at the Carrollton Center for the Arts, October 13-14, 2018. This two-day, upscale event features more than 70 visual fine artists from across the United States, food trucks, entertainment, youth art exhibits and roving guest artists. And while you explore the festival, make time to enjoy this altogether captivating performance.
