Now in its ninth year, the Carrollton Elementary School Jingle Bell Jog has been sanctioned as an official qualifier for the storied Peachtree Road Race held in Atlanta on the Fourth of July every year.

The 5K race and Fun Run will be held Saturday, Dec. 1. The Fun Run starts at 9:00 a.m. followed by the 5K at 9:30. The route start is in front of CES at the baseball field house and primarily follows the Carrollton Greenbelt, a plus for serious runners who want to post a strong time for the Peachtree qualifier, said Laurie Anne Luckie, CES PTVO president.

The event’s festive atmosphere is created by encouraging runners to wear holiday gear, giving all runners jingle bells for their shoes, and offering opportunities for participants to have their pictures made with Santa. Music and hot chocolate and other snacks complement the festivities.

Sign up for the 5K or the Fun Run by registering online at runsignup.com. Scroll down to find the race and type CES Jingle Bell Jog in the search bar. For a T-shirt guarantee, registrants must sign up by Friday, Nov. 9.

The entry fee for the 5K is $20 and the Fun Run $10. Proceeds will be used to fund PTVO’s efforts to support CES. For more information and updates, visit the CES PTVO Facebook page.
