The West Georgia Beginner Farmer Development Program (BFDP) is a 9 month training program focusing on fruit, vegetable, and herb production. The program offers farm training, as well as, class room presentations.  The participants can select from a variety of trainings to meet their needs as a beginner farmers. Certificates of completion will be available for those meeting program requirements for the West Georgia Beginner Farmer Development Program and UGA Extension’s Journeyman Farmer Training. The program is sponsored from a grant issued by USDA National Institute of food and Agriculture.  Other program contributors are: In her Shoes Inc., Groundwork Atlanta, Rodgers Greens and Roots,  UGA Small Business Development Center,  and UGA College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences.

Interested Individuals should sign up as soon as possible.

Orientation is scheduled for December 8, 2018 and the program begins the January 25, 2019.
