“Over the last few years the Georgia General Assembly has passed criminal justice reform laws giving citizens who have been accused of crimes but not convicted of these crimes a way to expunge or get these arrests off of their criminal record.
The General Assembly has also passed laws that in some circumstances when people have been convicted of a crime they may be eligible to get this crime off their record as well.
This free event is designed to help people gain clarity on their criminal record and hopefully help them correct their criminal history and make them more attractive to perspective employers or make it easier to acquire housing. During this free event lawyers from the District Attorney’s Office and the Georgia Justice Project will look over an individual’s criminal history and determine if any of the crimes are eligible to be expunged or restricted under these new laws.
Individuals can call, e-mail, or come to the Douglas County District Attorney’s office in person to apply for this event. ”
