The League of Women Voters of Carrollton-Carroll County announces Candidate Forums for County Commission runoff elections.

The County Commission Chair runoff candidates, Michelle Morgan and John Wilson have agreed to a Candidate Forum on June 26th, Wednesday, at 6:30 pm at the Carrollton Cultural Arts Center at 251 Alabama St. in Carrollton.

In addition, District 4 runoff candidates, Steve Fuller and Mark T. Sullivan have agreed to a Candidate Forum. These will be held back to back on the same night at the same location.

District 5 runoff candidates, Ernest “Ernie” Reynolds and Jay Williford have agreed to a Candidate Forum on June 27th, Thursday, at 6:30 pm at the Whitesburg Elementary School gymnasium at 868 Main Street.

As each race consists of two candidates, if one of the two does not attend, the Candidate Forum for that race will be canceled. Representatives of candidates may not speak in an absent candidate’s place.

Other LWVCCC Candidate Forum Protocols apply.

The LWVCCC wishes that we could have forums for Commission Chair in all areas of the outlying county but due to time, the upcoming holiday, and venue availability, a central location was decided on.

Early voting begins July 8th, Monday and goes through Friday. Runoff voting day is July 16th, Tuesday.

There has been some question about who can vote on County Commissioners. Everyone who is registered to vote in Carroll County is eligible to vote for the commission chairperson, whether you live in the city or county. Only those people who live in Districts 4 & 5 will be eligible to vote in those races.

Also please note that registered voters who did not vote in the original election, MAY VOTE IN THE RUNOFF!
