Lyda Blanche Worley Prince, age 89 of Roopville, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday morning, December 10, 2019.  She was born February 22, 1930 in Heard County, Georgia, the daughter of the late Robert Lee “Bob” Worley and the late Bertha Ann Green Worley. 

She moved to the Roopville area from Stone Mountain, Georgia in 1966.  Along with her husband, Norman J. Prince, they owned and operated Prince Grocery Store and Green Acres Mobile Home Park in Roopville, Georgia. 

Mrs. Lyda opened her first beauty shop in the back of the grocery store and operated it for years before building their home in Franklin, Georgia, where she had her beauty shop business in her home for many years following.  She always had a huge garden near the lake in their backyard, providing food deliveries for family and the residents of the mobile home park.  She was called many times to the funeral home to do the final hair style for her beauty shop clients; and she enjoyed lifting the spirit of nursing home residents with a new haircut or style.  She was a member of Goshen Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Norman J. Prince; sister, Carrie Fobbus, Elva Sue Worley,  Minnie Adams Davis, Buena Payton Key, Ferrol Mashburn, Burma Gibson, an Lucy Worley; brothers, Raymond “Bill” Worley, Robert “Jack” Worley, Clarence Worley, Herman Worley, Earl Worley, Ernest Worley, Herbert Worley, Lester Shumake and baby Shumake.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Sheila & David Wilson of Roopville, Georgia; son and daughter-in-law, Steve & Sue Prince of Franklin, Georgia; sisters:  Lillie Hurd of Gainesville, Georgia and Lois Gaither of Franklin, Georgia; grandchildren:  Matt and Jennifer Wilson of Franklin, Georgia, Leigh Wilson of Roopville, Georgia, and Vanessa Prince White of Roopville, Georgia; great grandchildren:  Landon McLeod, Lane McLeod, Reid Wilson, Tee Wilson, Brock Wilson,  and Caylin White.   

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, December 12, 2019 at 11:00 AM from Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Bryan officiating.  Interment will follow in Goshen Methodist Church Cemetery. 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, December 11, 2019 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM.
