Anna came to the US as a 14-year old immigrant, respected this country was proud to learn English and receive her US citizenship. She worked in a Badminton factory weaving “The Birdie’s” in her early years in the US. And worked outside the home until she met Ettore Fazio at a Sons of Italy event in Philadelphia and Married in 1957 where they celebrated 60 years of Marriage.
Anna had a passion for Crafts, Gardening, Service, and Cooking. She took a great sense of accomplishment in making something with her hands: Knitting, Smocking, Quilting, Cross-Stitching or just sewing. She owned and operated The Embroidery House craft store on the Carrollton Square for 8 years. She was also a member of the Quilters Guild of Carrollton. Anna truly loved her Flowers and garden. She was a founding member of the Maple Leaf Garden Club in Carrollton where she loved seeing and discussing what others were doing in their gardens. Anna was also an active member since 1962 of the General Federation of Women’s Club joining in Pennsylvania, serving in Staunton Virginia and with the Carrollton Civic Women’s club. Over the years, Anna supported the many projects and was most proud of the work done for the Tallulah Falls Schools, The Soup Kitchen, and The Women’s Shelter. She also served the sick and was an active Pink Lady at Tanner Hospital. At Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Anna loved our Lord and Savior and had a great devotion to the Blessed Mother. She served the church in many areas but most enjoyed her work with the Ladies Alter Society.
Anna loved to play card games like Canasta and especially enjoyed Bridge. She played Bridge with two different day groups and most recently began playing ROOK with residents at the Stewart House. But the thing Anna showed us most was her kindness. Whether bringing someone a meal, showing someone how to cross stitch, bringing flowers to gain a smile or worrying about the other residents at the Stewart House during their last days, Anna was present.
