Megan Nicole Pettitt, born November 1, 1991, in Conyers, Georgia, lived a life marked by strength, courage, and a deep love for the people and moments that mattered most. Though her journey included the difficult challenge of Huntington’s Disease, Megan faced each day with remarkable determination and a spirit that left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her.
From a young age, Megan carried an energy and enthusiasm for life that was contagious. She loved being outdoors, finding peace and joy in nature, whether hiking trails that opened to breathtaking views or simply enjoying a quiet walk along a winding path. The outdoors gave her a sense of freedom, and those moments became some of her most treasured.
Megan also had a strong passion for physical fitness. Her dedication and discipline were evident in the time and effort she poured into training for a bodybuilding competition, an accomplishment that reflected both her perseverance and her desire to live life fully. Even when life presented obstacles, Megan met them head-on with resilience and determination.
Above all else, Megan loved her family deeply. Some of her happiest memories were made simply being together, sharing laughter, stories, and the comfort of one another’s presence. She shared a special bond with her sister, Enjoli, and brother-in-law, Josh Cheatham, and took great pride in being “Aunt Megan” to her beloved niece, Kiersten Cheatham. Those relationships brought her immense joy and were a constant source of love and encouragement throughout her life.
She is lovingly remembered by her parents, Tonya McElroy and Wayne McElroy; her sister, Enjoli (Josh) Cheatham; her cherished niece, Kiersten Cheatham; and many other family members and friends who will continue to carry her memory in their hearts.
The family will receive friends at Martin & Hightower Funeral Home on Friday, June 26, 2026, from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM.
A funeral service to honor and celebrate Megan’s life will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at 1:00 PM, with Chaplain Clint Vaughn officiating.
Though Megan’s time here was far too short, the strength, courage, and love she shared will never be forgotten. Her life leaves behind a quiet but powerful legacy of perseverance and grace.
