Pauline Huckeba Jennings, age 86, of Carrollton, Georgia, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, May 4, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on September 7, 1939, in Carroll County, Georgia, Pauline was the beloved daughter of the late Lora Shoemake Richardson and Elbert Shoemake.
Pauline’s life was rooted in love, family, and simple joys. In May of 1958, she married the love of her life, Floyd Huckeba, and together they built a home filled with laughter, devotion, and deep family bonds until his passing in 1993. Years later, Pauline found love again and married Richard Jennings, who lovingly embraced her children as his own and shared in the life she had so carefully built.
She was a woman who found her greatest happiness at home, whether tending to her garden, preparing meals for those she loved, or gathering family around her table. Pauline was especially known for her homemade biscuits, a simple gift that became a lasting memory for all who had the pleasure of enjoying them. She never met a stranger, and her warm spirit and generous heart made everyone feel welcome.
Pauline was a devoted member of Friendship Baptist Church in Douglas County, where her faith was central to her life. She carried that faith into her everyday actions, always ready to lend a helping hand or offer a kind word.
Throughout her life, Pauline was known for her strong work ethic and dedication. She spent many years serving her community, including 15 years at Belks, 15 years at Kroger, and 17 years with Martin & Hightower Funeral Home, places where she formed lasting friendships and left a meaningful impact.
In addition to her parents, Pauline was preceded in death by her husbands, Floyd Huckeba and Richard Jennings; her sons, Ricky Huckeba and Steven Huckeba; her brothers, Charles Shoemake and Hoyt Shoemake; her granddaughter, Brandy Nolen; and her dear friend, Rip Steel Sr.
She leaves behind a legacy of love in those who survive her: her son, Mike Huckeba; her daughters, Mandy (Wes) Carnes and Shanda (Brian) Cook; her brother, Edward Shoemake; her daughters-in-law, Lana Huckeba and Lisa Huckeba; her sisters-in-law, Beverly Shoemake, Rita Cortez, and Jean Austin; her special friend, Ray Ussury; her 15 grandchildren; her many great-grandchildren; and her many extended family members and friends who were blessed to know her.
The family will receive friends at Martin & Hightower Funeral Home on Friday, May 8, 2026, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM and again on Saturday, May 9, 2026, from 11:00 AM until 12:30 PM. A funeral service to honor and celebrate Mrs. Pauline’s life will be held in the Chapel of Martin & Hightower Funeral Home on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at 1:00 PM with Pastor Alvin Honeycutt and Pastor Mark Rice officiating. Music will be rendered by Mrs. Judy Honeycutt. Interment will follow in Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Amedisys Hospice Care of Newnan for the compassion and care shown to Pauline during her final days.
Pauline’s life was a beautiful reflection of love, kindness, and unwavering devotion to her family. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew her, in every shared meal, every garden tended, and every act of quiet generosity.
Messages of condolence may be shared with the family at www.martin-hightower.com. Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel is honored to serve the Jennings family.
