The third annual Agriculture Career Expo was held Jan. 10 at the Carroll County Ag Center. Forty-three Carrollton High School students attended the event and were able to visit with local ag-related businesses, organizations, and colleges to learn more about the career opportunities for their future.
Agriculture is the number one industry in the state of Georgia. The farm gate value in Carroll County alone is more than $220 million dollars.
In the near future, there will be more ag-related jobs than there are qualified employees.
Because of this and the importance of agriculture to our community, the event was an essential reminder of a career area that has a great future.
