Sherry Malinda Windom, 73, of Mt. Zion, Georgia, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, February 17, 2024. She was born on December 5, 1950, in Graham, Alabama, the daughter of the late Olen Acy Wiggins & Sarah “Lucille” Truitt Wiggins.

Mrs. Sherry cared for her community as a Registered Nurse for over 30 years. She was a member of the first graduating class of the nursing program at West Georgia College and worked at Coweta Fayette Hospital, Tanner Medical Center, and Mt. Zion Primary Health Clinic during that time.    

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 46 years, William Larry Windom; brothers, Emery Billy Wiggins, Olen Hoyt Wiggins Sr., Billy Lee Kimbrell, Harold M. Wiggins, and James Willis Lambert; and sisters, Sherri S. Wiggins, Betty Wiggins, Sarah V. Wiggins, Hellen Gail Watts, Shilene Johnson, Wordie L. “Ann” Wiggins, and Sheila Jane Wiggins.

Sherry is survived by her sons & daughters-in-law, Clint & Adriann Windom and Ryan & Crystal Windom; grandchildren, Conner Windom, Bella Windom, Luke Windom, Joule Windom, and Wattson Windom; and sister-in-law, Alli Jean Brimer.

A memorial service will be held to honor and celebrate Sherry’s life on Monday, February 19, 2024, at 2:00 PM from the Chapel of Martin & Hightower Funeral Home, with Pastor Anthony Puckett officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 12:00 PM until the hour of service.
