LaVerne Harden Marlow, age 86 of Carrollton, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday evening, August 28, 2018. She was born September 30, 1931 in Carrollton, Georgia, the daughter of the late Marvin DuWayne Harden and the late Bessie Lou Gillespie Harden. She was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church and a former member of Shiloh United Methodist Church, where she served for thirty-one years as the Choir Director.

She retired from Carrollton Federal Savings & Loan Association, following a lengthy work career, and served for five years with the Tanner Medical Center Auxiliary.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Lee “Bill” Marlow.

Survivors include her children: LuAnn Grant of Carrollton, Jeffery Lee “Jeff” Marlow, also of Carrollton, Faye Langley, Port St. Joe, Florida, and William K. “Ken” Marlow of Brentwood, Tennessee; brother, Marvin Lee Harden of Tucker; grandchildren: Joshua Bradley, Anthony Bradley, Hope Buchanan, Naaman King, Carlee Powers, Will Marlow, Zach Steed, Noah Steed, David Steed, William Kenneth Marlow, Jr., Laura Marlow Shaw, Josh Grant, Michael Grant, and Brian Grant; and a number of great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, August 30, 2018, at 3:00 P.M. from Shiloh United Methodist Church. Eulogist will be Mr. David Steed and Mr. Scott Eason.

Music will be rendered by Mr. Marvin Harden, Zach Steed and David Steed.

Grandsons: Zach Steed, Noah Steed, David Steed, Joshua Bradley, Anthony Bradley, Naaman King, and Will Marlow will serve as pallbearers. Members of Shiloh UMC Choir, members of the Tabernacle Baptist Church Choir and Praise Singers, and members of the Tanner Medical Center Auxiliary will be seated as honorary pallbearers. Interment will follow in the Shiloh UMC Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel on Thursday, August 30, 2018, from 12:00 Noon until 2:00 P.M.
