Billy Jack Grizzard, a beloved father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on July 14, 2025, at the age of 84. Born on May 24, 1941, in Carrollton, Georgia, Jack lived a life dedicated to family, faith, and service.
Growing up in Carrollton and later residing in White, Georgia, Jack pursued various interests that enriched his life and the lives of those around him. As a retired pipe fitter with Grinnell Fire Protection in the commercial construction industry, he left a legacy of hard work and dedication. After fulfilling his professional commitments, Jack found joy in farming and gardening, cultivating not only plants but also cherished memories with his family.
As a proud member of the Yaarab Shrine and the Bowdon Masonic Lodge #206 F&AM, Jack contributed to his community and built lasting friendships through his involvement in these organizations. He was a remarkable family man, leaving behind a legacy that includes his daughters and son-in-law, Kim Grizzard and Dr. Kacy & Felipe Venegas; sons and daughters-in-law Kerry & Wendy Grizzard, Kevin & Sandi Grizzard, and J.T. & Stormi Grizzard, as well as eleven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren who will carry his spirit forward.
Jack was preceded in death by his father, Charlie Grizzard; his mother, Eva Barnes Grizzard; his step-mother, Della Heath Grizzard; his loving wife, Sandra Grizzard; his brothers, Jim Grizzard, Charles “Bozo” Grizzard, and Herman “Red” Grizzard; and his sister, Velma Landers.
A memorial service celebrating Jack’s life will take place on Friday, July 18, 2025, at 3:00 PM at Antioch Baptist Church in Carrollton. Prior to the service, a visitation will be held at the same location, starting at 2:00 PM. Pastor Jamie Beam and Bro. Gerald Thompson will officiate the ceremony, reflecting on Jack’s contributions to his family and community.
