Edwina Vaughn Shaw, 72, of Winston, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, January 25, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was born July 7, 1951, in Hapeville, Georgia, the daughter of the late Ed Mann and the Harriett Eubanks Mann.

Edwina graduated from Hapeville High School.  She was a faithful member of Mars Hill Baptist Church, where she was a Sunday School Teacher and Church Secretary. She loved everyone and made sure that those around her felt special.  She took great pleasure in being a wife, mother, and grandmother. She will leave a lasting impression on everyone who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her loving husband of 36 years, Butch Shaw; daughters and sons-in-law, Victoria and Trent Edwards, Christina and Austin McCaffrey; sisters, Prudence Mann Liepelt and Tonia Mann Anding; granddaughter, Olivia Edwards; grandson on the way, William Vaughn Edwards; and nine nieces.

Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, February 1, 2024, at 2:00 PM from Mars Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Terry Wofford officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM until the hour of service.

Interment will follow in Mars Hill Baptist Church Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Trent Edwards, Austin McCaffrey, Kim Smith, Christopher Denton, Michael Malia, and Andy Duncan.

Due to Edwina’s battle with Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (CJD), her family asks that memorial contributions be made in her name to the National Prion Disease Pathology Surveillance Center.
