Linda grew up in Tallapoosa and graduated from Villa Rica High School, where she was an exceptional student and earned all A’s. On June 1, 1968, in a candlelight service, Linda married the love of her life, Roger Steve Lester. Linda and Steve built a beautiful life together and supported each other every step of the way. On September 6, 1991, Linda opened the Shepherd’s Corner Christian Bookstore, which she managed for over 30 years.
The Lester family were West Carrollton Baptist Church members for nearly 30 years. Mrs. Linda taught Sunday School for many years. She wasn’t just a teacher; she became a true sister in Christ and walked beside her Sunday School Class members. More recently, the family has been faithful members of Roopville Road Baptist Church. Mrs. Linda was the embodiment of a true people person and was a natural caregiver. During the last months of her life, while living at The Oaks, she would greet other residents with a simple “I Love You!” She had a true love of people her entire life. She will be truly missed by everyone who knew and loved her.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her loving husband, Steve Lester; children Scott & Becky Lester, Keith Lester, and Tammy & Jared Page; grandchildren, Kristen Lester, Scott Lester Jr., Mary Grace Lester, Jacob Lester, Caleb Page, Abbie Page, Megan Page, and Evan Lester; greatgrandchild, Oakleigh Lester; sisters, Teresa Ann Wright Buchanan Garrett, Marilyn Sue Abercrombie Driver, and Deborah Robinson Harris; brothers & sisters-in-law, Steve & Elaine Wright and Richard Henry & Rhonda Wright.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Ruby Louise Moore Richards & Oliver Richards, and paternal grandparents, Eva Eunice Jackson Wright & Willis Martin Wright.
A funeral service will be held to honor and celebrate Mrs. Linda’s life on Sunday, February 25, 2024, at 3:00 PM from the Chapel of Martin & Hightower Funeral Home, with Dr. Stephen Peeples officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 1:30 PM until the hour of service.

Interment will take place in Carroll Memory Gardens on Monday, February 26, 2024, at 11:00 AM, with Rev. Jared Page officiating. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Scott Lester Jr., Jacob Lester, Caleb Page, Evan Lester, Mark Grizzard, and Shane Reeves.
