Our speaker this week, Martha Boyce, pictured here with our president, Keith James, updated us on her work at the Carroll County Emergency Shelter.
She told us that in the past year, 779 people were served there for one night or longer.
A new grant program called rapid rehousing has put 17 families into homes, of which 15 have succeeded in maintaining stability in the past year.
Although 85% who seek assistance come from Carroll County, they also serve four other nearby counties.
Mrs. Boyce thanked us for our continued support.
