Mary Elizabeth Gore, age 80 of Whitesburg, Georgia, passed away Thursday, January 25, 2018 at her residence. She was born August 20, 1937 in Carroll County, Georgia, the daughter of the late Braxton Horsley and the late Luvenia Robinson Horsley.
She was employed with Wellington Mill for over fifteen years and was a member of Corinth Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Albert Gore; brothers: J. W. Horsley, Joseph Horsley, Hershel Horsley, Talmadge Horsley and Frank Horsley; and sisters: Martha Rayburn and Minnie Dobbs.
Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law: Hazel and Ernest Langridge of Whitesburg, Loretta and Chad Bloodworth, also of Whitesburg, Angela and Dale Gresham of Clem, Sarah Gore of Whitesburg, and Janie and Oscar Hughie of Newnan; sons: John Gore and Stanley Gore, both of Whitesburg; sisters-in-laws: Jean Horsley of Carrollton and Betty Horsley of Whitesburg; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-four great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, January 28, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Eastside Baptist Church with Rev. Gary Brown and Rev. John Powers officiating. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers Randy Kittle, Jerry Dobbs, Chris Hazelrig, Tyler Crump, Kenny Spurling, Chris Spurling, and Eric Moran.
Interment will follow in Antioch Primitive Church Cemetery in Whitesburg. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday evening from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM.
