Eunia Mary Haney Hansard, age 93, of Lithia Springs, Georgia passed away Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at the Benton House following an extended illness with Alzheimer’s disease. She was born September 27, 1924 in Gadsden, Alabama, the daughter of the late Mr. Robert Jesse “Bud” Haney and the late Mrs. Leaner Jordan Haney. She was a homemaker and a devoted mother of six children. She worked in the cafeteria for the Cobb County School System for 15 years. She was a member of Sunset Hills Baptist Church. She was devoted to family and was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Milton Lee Hansard, Sr.; daughter-in-law, Kay Lewis; son-in-law, Mike Slater; grandson, Chris Williams; great-grandson, Jesse Killian; sisters, Almer Hansard and Rosella; brothers, Ralph Haney and Raymond Haney.
She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Florence and Roger Williams of Villa Rica, Joy Slater of Temple, Dale and Billy Davis of Douglasville; three sons and daughters-in-law, James and Carolyn Lewis of Douglasville, Harold Lewis of Rydal, and Milton Jr. and Pat Hansard of Douglasville; 16 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; 24 great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville, Thursday, February 8, 2018 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Funeral Services will be conducted Friday, February 9, 2018 at 2:00 PM at the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville with Pastor Ikey Watson officiating and Mr. Billy Davis providing the family eulogy.
