Hilda Reeves Maxwell, age 85 of Carrollton, passed away March 7, 2018. She was born October 14, 1932 in Carrollton, Georgia daughter of the late Harold Lee Reeves and Minnie Grizzard Reeves. S
he was a 1949 Roopville High School graduate and worked for Fluor Daniel Construction as a project accountant for more than 25 years. She was a faithful member of Oak Grove Baptist Church for over 70 years and was a charter member of the churches WMU.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Bobby J. Maxwell; son, Bobby Michael “Mike” Maxwell; and sister, Helen Reeves Hightower.
She is survived by her sons, Joe Maxwell and Rhudy Maxwell (Lisa) both of Carrollton; daughter-in-law, Vicki Roberts (George) of Carrollton; sisters-in-law, June Maxwell and Patsy Maxwell Akin (Wendell) both of Carrollton; brother-in-law, Gerald Hightower (Shirley) of Carrollton; five grandchildren, Brian Maxwell (Brandy), Daniel Maxwell (Kristen), Myles Maxwell (Brianna), Alli Maxwell Barnes (Adam), and Matt Maxwell; six great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be conducted Saturday, March 10, 2018 at 12:30 PM from Oak Grove Baptist Church with Pastor Jason Bowman and Mr. Tut Smith officiating. Grandsons and nephews will serve as pallbearers. Music will be rendered by Mark Barnes, Lori Startup and Dale Hendrix. Interment will follow in Carroll Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the church from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, family requests that donations be made to the Oak Grove Building Fund at 2829 Oak Grove Church Road, Carrollton, GA 30117.
