Carl Melvin Wiley, Sr., age 83 of Roopville, Georgia, passed away on Friday morning, March 16, 2018.  He was born May 2, 1934 in Atlanta, Georgia, the son of the late Plennie P. Wiley and Ethel Lou Wiley.  He retired after thirty-four years from General Motors Doraville Plant.

He was an avid cattle farmer and was of the Christian faith.  He loved his family, was a loving father, and a man that would go the extra mile for anyone. He and his wife loved their time spent at Daytona Beach.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of sixty-three years, Leila Griffith Wiley, a daughter, Lisa Darlene Thompson, three brothers and one sister.

Survivors include his daughters and son-in-law, Frankie Deborah Wiley of Roopville, Georgia and Mary Webb (Tommy) of Newnan, Georgia; son and daughter-in-law, Carl M. Wiley, Jr. (Judy) of Roopville, Georgia; grandchildren, Chris Williamson, Emilie Richardson, Eric Thompson, Drew Wiley, Trevor Green, Zac Wiley, and James Thompson, Jr.; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Graveside service will be Sunday, March 18, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Carroll Memory Gardens with Pastor Lamar Clarke officiating.  His grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday evening from 4:00 PM until 8 PM and on Sunday from 12:30 PM until 1:30 PM.  Messages of condolence may be sent to the family at www.martin-hightower.com.
