Renowned psychologist and hypnotherapist Dr. Nancy Irwin doesn’t believe in midlife crises — only opportunities. And she should know. After receiving her bachelor’s and master’s degress in opera performance at the University of West Georgia, the professional stand-up comedian decided at age 44 to get her doctorate in clinical psychology.

Can truth be defined? Philosophy department hosts 18th annual Meeting of the Minds
Plato, Albert Camus, Hannah Arendt and John Beauregard recently gathered at the University of West Georgia to discuss the nature of truth. How? It’s all part of the Meeting of the Minds, an annual event hosted by the Department of Philosophy in the College of Arts and Humanities in which students pose as famous philosophers to discuss an interesting topic.
