MSGT Robert Buren Brock, Retired USAF, age 85, of Carrollton, Georgia passed away Friday, April 20, 2018.

Mr. Brock was born June 23, 1932 in Carroll County, Georgia to the late Raymond and Myrte Bell Stamps Brock. He entered the U.S. Air Force in 1950 returning to Carrollton in 1954 marring Bonnie Sue Horton. Mr. Brock reentered the Air Force later that year and completed 20 years retiring in 1970. Throughout his service he served in Alaska, Newfoundland, Korea, California, Nevada, Colorado, Georgia, Mississippi and Texas.

After retiring from the Air Force, he worked for Southwire Company for 23 years retiring as Telecommunications Operations Manager. He attended Marin County Junior College in California for two years, was a member of the Toastmasters International, Civitan, American Legion and Tabernacle Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Jo Kaylor Worthington Brock; son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Vicki Brock of Hartselle, Alabama; daughter-in-law, Kim Brock of Ponta Gorda, Florida; sister and brother-in-law, Janie and George Loftin of Carrollton; step children, John and Sandra Worthington of Seneca, South Carolina, Julie and Wendell Bird of Buckhead, Georgia, Jim and Susanne Worthington of Watkinsville, Georgia; grandchildren, Katie and Jeremy Gilliland, Cammie and Luke Cooner, Jeremy and Kayla Brock, Eric and Mary Brock and 9 great granddaughters. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his step mother, Jewell Cottle Brock; wife, Bonnie Horton Brock; son, Gary Brock and brother, Steve Brock.

Funeral service will be Sunday, April 22 at 5 p.m. at Tabernacle Baptist Church with Pastor Dr. Stephen Allen officiating. Music will be by Carol Jackson. The family will receive friends at Tabernacle Baptist Church on Sunday from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m.

Pallbearers will be Luke Cooner, Tim Loftin, Rodney Brock, Jeremy Gilliland, Will Worthington and Kyle Worthington. Honorary pallbearers will be the Adult 2 Co-Ed Sunday School Class.

Interment will be in Carroll Memory Gardens with American Legion Post# 143 providing military honors.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Tabernacle Baptist Church, 150 Tabernacle Dr., Carrollton, GA 30117.
