Johnnie Lee Hayes, age 78 of Carrollton, passed away Saturday, April 21, 2018. He was born October 22, 1939 in Carroll County, Georgia, son of the late Ira Lee Hayes and Bertha Lee Dorsey-Hayes.
He worked for General Shell Brick Company for more than 44 years and was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by sister, Debra Hayes; and a brother, John L. Hayes.
He is survived by his loving wife, Betty M. Hayes of Carrollton; daughters, Amelia Hayes of Taledo, OH, and Cassandra D. Miller (Hubert) of Carrollton, GA; sons, Robert Lee Banks, Jr. of Savannah, GA, and Antonio “Tony” Banks I (Contressa) of Carrollton, GA; sisters, Joann Moody (Herschel) and Dianne Crowder (Walter) both of Carrollton; brother, Rayford Hayes of Carrollton; ten grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
Funeral service will be conducted Saturday, April 28, 2018 at 2:00 PM from First Baptist Church with Rev. Tellas Walker officiating.
Interment will follow in Carrollton City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, April 27, 2018 from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM.
