Arthur John Miller, age 81 of Carrollton, passed away Tuesday, May 1, 2018. He was born January 30, 1937 in Glynn County, Georgia, son of the late William Lawton Miller and Mildred Eudell Joiner Bryant.
He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict and was a member of the American Legion Post #143 and Aubrey Gilbert Detachment 1312. He worked as a customer service representative with S. K. F. Industries for more than 25 years and was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two sons-in-law, Mickey Robinson and Ricky North.
He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Gene Montene Cowart Miller of Carrollton; seven children; step-children, Vickie Robinson of Bremen, Wendell and Debra North of Carrollton, and Debbie Jones of Bremen; daughter-in-law, Debby North of Carrollton; sister, Edith Googe of Jacksonville, FL; and a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be conducted Saturday, May 5, 2018 at 3:00 PM from Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel with Rev. Doug New officiating.
Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Darrell Robinson, Andrew Robinson, Michael Robinson, Eric Jones, Chris Reynolds, and John North.
The United States Marine Corps will provide military honors.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 PM until the hour of service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Georgia Transplant Foundation. All checks should be made out to Georgia Transplant Foundation with the memo section noting: “In Honor of Debra Jones.”
