The Solar Energy for the Farm workshop will be held on Wednesday, June 13 from 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm at the Carroll County Ag Center located at 900 Newnan Road in Carrollton for farmers and landowners interested in alternative energy on their farm. Participants will learn about solar energy, the Solarize Carrollton-Carroll Coalition, grants and loans available from USDA Rural Energy for America Program (REAP), hear from farmers who are using solar on their farm, and a chance to meet solar companies. Invited presenters at the program include Joe Anderson, USDA Rural Development; Jamie Burns, Poultry Farmer; Bryan Hager, Organic Vegetable Farmer; John Hinman, Solarize Carrollton-Carroll; James Layton, Carroll EMC; Don Moreland, President of Solar Crowd Source.
