Friends of Whitesburg Library offers McIntosh Fall Festival ‘Bags of Books’ sale

The Friends of the Whitesburg Public Library book store, Harvey’s House of Books, will be open for extended hours on Saturday, September 29, as it offers a one-day “bags of books” sale in observance of the McIntosh Reserve Fall Festival.  Customers may fill a brown paper bag with regular adult fiction and nonfiction hardback books for $10 and a plastic bag of paperback books for $5.  Bags will be provided by the store.

Special hours on September 29 will be 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.  The store at 1140 Main Street offers 20,000 books, movies, music and magazines.  All sales benefit the Whitesburg Public Library.  Giftable, like-new books for $3, children’s books and DVDs and CDs are excluded from the sale.

Regular hours are Mondays 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Fridays 10 a.m. to noon and Saturdays 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Frugal Fridays feature half-price books every week.  Call 470-345-9397 for information.

The McIntosh Reserve Fall Festival features arts and crafts and food at the McIntosh Reserve Park on West Highway 5 in Whitesburg on September 29 and 30.
