Mr. Bryant Kirby Maddox, age 81 of Carrollton, GA died Saturday, September 22, 2018.
Mr. Maddox was born in Carrollton, Georgia on January 14, 1937, the son of the late Bradford Kirby Maddox and Sybil Samples Rabun. Early in his working career he worked in research and development for Southwire Company later retiring from Stewart C. Irby Company as engineer.
He was a passionate golfer having worked as a marshal at Oak Mountain Golf, avid Georgia Bulldog fan but above anything else he loved his family.
Survivors include his wife, Joice White Duffey Maddox; son, Mitch Maddox of Carrollton; daughter, Kellie Maddox of Carrollton; grandchildren, Kirby and Andy Broome, Kyle Maddox; great grandchildren, Drew and Greer Broome; brother, Brad Maddox and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Virginia R. “Ginnie” Maddox and son, Vincent Monroe Maddox.
The family will receive friends at Almon Funeral Home on Monday, September 24 from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m.
Funeral service will be held Tuesday, September 25 at 2 p.m. at First Christian Church with Pastor Jay Akin officiating.
Pallbearers will be Bruce Maddox, Chad Maddox, Jason Engelbird, Andy Broome, Scott Akin and Derek Duffey.
Interment will be in Glenn Memorial Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Carroll County Alzheimer’s Support Group, PO BOX 1273, Carrollton, GA 30112.
