Debra Walker McDonald of Carrollton, Georgia passed away Thursday, October 4, 2018 after an extended battle with a kidney disease.
She was born in Carrollton, Georgia to the late E.R. and Evelyn Walker. She was a graduate of Carrollton High School and University of West Georgia. She was married to Robert McDonald, Jr. for 20 years. Deb spent her entire working career in telecommunications with several companies and her most recent employer was AT&T, Atlanta, Georgia. Deb lived a very adventurous life. She enjoyed skydiving, scuba diving, hot air balloon rides and riding her bicycle. Her hobbies were traveling, spending time with family and making the world’s longest honey-do-list. Deb had a passionate love for all animals and made sure they had a caring home. She was a proud breast cancer survivor.
Survivors include her husband, Robert McDonald, Jr.; her brother and sister-in-law, Tony and Debra Walker of Carrollton; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Robert and Mollie McDonald, Sr. of Rocky Mount, Georgia; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Sharman and Chuck Nash of Newnan, Georgia, Rachel and Ben Raham of Cumming, Georgia; nieces and nephews, Jessica, Ben and Hadley Bram, Luke Walker, Charleston and Hamilton Nash, Emily, Carly, Cassidy and Lilly Grace Raham. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a sister Linda McNeely.
The family will receive friends at Almon Funeral Home on Saturday from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. and Sunday from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m.
Funeral service will be Sunday, October 7, 2018 at 3 p.m. from the chapel of Almon Funeral Home with Rev. Joy Griffin officiating.
Pallbearers will be Luke Walker, Ben Bram, Mark Buchanan, Bert Hall, Chris Hall and Chris Justice. Honorary pallbearers will be Gary Cottrell and Ricky Henson.
Interment will be in Carroll Memory Gardens.
