Jimmie Nell Kent Duke, age 91 of Carrollton, passed away Sunday, February 03, 2019. She was born December 25, 1927 in Carrollton, Georgia, daughter of the late James Claude Kent and Fanny Lucy Lee Kent.

She retired from Belk after serving the company for more than 30 years and attended Lee’s Chapel Church. She enjoyed working in her many flower gardens, fishing, playing cards, rummikub, and traveling.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, W. D. Duke, Jr; three brothers, Paul Kent, J.C. Kent, and Ray Kent; and a sister, Lillian Kent Long.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Patsy and Dennis Marlow of Bowdon; grandchildren, Christie and Matt Eidson, Sandy and Jacob Turner, and Jeffrey and Amanda Marlow; great grandchildren, Marlo Eidson, Journey Turner, JuLeigha Turner, Curt Eidson, Chase Marlow, Jake Turner, and Jared Turner; and sister and brother-in-law, Melba and Billy Thomas.

Funeral service will be conducted Tuesday, February 5, 2019 at 3:00 PM from Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel with Rev. Harold Hamrick and Rev. Kevin Geter officiating. Interment will follow in Carroll Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, February 4, 2019 from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM.
