John Worth Bryce, Jr., age 87 of Whitesburg, Georgia passed away Thursday, February 28, 2019.

Mr. Bryce was born in Carrollton, Georgia on May 25, 1931, the son of the late John Worth Bryce, Sr. and Matilda Shadrix Bryce. He served in the United States Army in the Signal Corps Division. He later went to work with Southwire Company as a foreman where he retired after many years of service and was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Marie Elizabeth Phillips Bryce; daughter, Sandra Ann Bryce Hembree of Whitesburg; grandchildren, Michael Wayne Hembree, Lamonda Marie Pate, John Thomas Hembree; sister, Hazel South of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida; nephews, Jerry South and Jimmy Cash. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by sister and brother-in-law, Opal and Loy Powell.

Funeral service will be Monday, March 4, 2019 at 3 p.m. from the chapel of Almon Funeral Home with Rev. Robie Hembree officiating.

The family will receive friends at Almon Funeral Home on Monday from 1 p.m. until the service time.

Interment will be in Shady Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
