Lloyd Thomas Meadows, age 89, of Douglasville, passed away on Wednesday, March 13, 2019.  He was born on August 20, 1929 in Paulding County, Georgia.  Lloyd was a Veteran of the United States Army and served during the Korean Conflict.  He was a retired Underwriter with Hanover Insurance and a member of Heritage Baptist Church.

Lloyd was a local artist and he was the designer of the City of Douglasville Seal with the tree in the center in 1975.  He was a former Board Member and volunteer at the Cultural Arts Center.

He was preceded in death by his father, Walter Hugh Meadows; mother, Katie Ola Meadows Walton and step-father, Sidney Walton; sisters, Florine Fargason, Floy Morgan, Louise Couch and Opal Bonse; nephew, Alan Morgan.

Lloyd is survived by his sister, Betty Thurmond; niece, Suzanne Ledbetter and husband, Andy; great-nephew, Drew Ledbetter; great-niece, Savannah Ledbetter; nieces and nephews, Linda Wells and husband, Jeff; Danny Fargason; Lynn Evans and husband, Ken; Barry Morgan; Cindy Morgan; Randall Couch and wife, Lynn; Chris Couch and wife, Amy; Sandra Burns; and Ardith Bonse; numerous other great nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at Hightower’s Memorial Chapel on Saturday, March 16, 2019 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM, and on Sunday from 1:00 PM until the time of service.

Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, March 17, 2019 in the Chapel of the funeral home with Reverend Gene Fields officiating.  Interment will be at Sweetwater Baptist Church Cemetery.
