RISING STAR VIOLINIST COMING TO CARROLLTON’S CENTER FOR THE ARTS

April 26, 2019 (Carrollton, Ga.) – The Carrollton Center for the Arts welcomes a musician who represents both youth and centuries of classical tradition when violinist Clarissa Bevilacqua performs May 5.

“This is a very special opportunity to hear a rising star in the music world in the early stages of what will surely be an amazing career,” said pianist and Carroll Symphony Orchestra conductor Terry Lowry, who will accompany Bevilacqua during her performance.

Known internationally as a child prodigy, Clarissa Bevilacqua started playing violin at age five in her native Italy and was performing before audiences of thousands by the age of nine. She has appeared at Carnegie Hall and the Auditorium Arvedi in Cremona, Italy, where she was the youngest violinist chosen to perform with the precious Stradivari collection of the Violin Museum. She is the youngest student in Italy to earn a Bachelor of Music degree and now studies with Pierre Amoyal in the Master Program at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg.

Recently, Bevilacqua was featured in the reality television series, Hear Us, which follows three young musicians as they pursue dreams of becoming classical soloists. The show has been aired more than 400 times on more than 300 public television stations in the US and recently won the Silver Medal at the New York Television and Film Awards. The pilot episode of Hear Us will be shown on screens in the Center for the Arts’ lobby before the concert and during intermission.

Lowry, who, is also executive producer of Hear Us, suggested area music teachers encourage their students to attend the show. “As a teenager herself, Clarissa will inspire your students to become the best musicians they can be.”
