Clarence W. Clay, age 90 of Carrollton, Georgia, passed away on Saturday morning, May 11, 2019 at Tanner Medical Center Carrollton. He was born May 6, 1929 in Coweta County, Georgia, the son of the late Charlie Clay and the late Florence Ragland Clay.
He was a Veteran of the United States Navy and was employed as a machinist with the William L. Bonnell Mfg. Company in Newnan for more than thirty-five years.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Nell “Dot” Roberts Clay; a son, Ronnie William Clay; a grandson, Ronnie Ward; a brother, Bobby Clay; and a sister, Carnelle Clay Collins.
He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Yvonne and Enoch Jiles of Carrollton; two grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and six great, great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at 2:00 PM from Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel with Bro. Tim Roberts officiating.
Music will be rendered by Ms. Kathy Roberts.
Pallbearers will be Tony Duke, Jeffrey Henderson, Ray Henderson, Levi Ward, John Kirby, and Clay Wilson.
Interment will follow in Carroll Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 12 Noon until the hour of service. Messages of condolence may be sent to the family at www.martin-hightower.com.
