Amy Carter, Deputy Commissioner, Rural Georgia Initiatives, for the Georgia Department of Economic Development was the guest speaker at the June 10 Carroll County Chamber of Commerce Board Meeting held at Uncorked in Villa Rica.
The Georgia General Assembly and Governor Nathan Deal created the Rural Georgia Initiatives division within the Georgia Department of Economic Development in March 2018. Appointed in March 2018, Carter leads state efforts to help rural Georgia communities become more competitive for economic development projects and identify new strategies for attracting jobs and investment. This division works diligently to advance these strategies, thereby improving the quality of life for those residing in Georgia’s rural communities.
