Marie Elizabeth Phillips Bryce, age 89 of Whitesburg, Georgia passed away Saturday, July 20, 2019. 

Mrs. Bryce was born in Carrollton, Georgia on September 14, 1929, the daughter of the late Fred Phillips and Gertrude Ann Pyron Phillips. She was a retired from Cluett Peabody as a seamstress and was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church.

Survivors include her grandchildren, Michael Wayne Hembree, Lamonda Marie Varner Pate and Tommy Hembree; great grandchildren, Kayla O’quinn, Blake Hembree, Johnny Mata, Thomas Varner, Marah Howard and great great granddaughter, Sophie; her sisters, Janice Vincent of Carrollton, GA and Doris Armstrong of Bowdon, GA. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, John Worth (J.W.) Bryce, Jr.; daughter, Sandra Bryce Hembree;brother, Wayne B. Phillips; and sister, Rachael Smith. 

The family will receive friends at Almon Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 23 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

A Graveside service and interment will be Wednesday, July 24 at 11 a.m. at Shady Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Robie Hembree officiating.
