Update:  Pine Mountain Gold Museum staff will be in historic downtown Villa Rica for the 41st Annual Gold Rush Festival to be held Saturday, September 7, 2019 from 10 am until 4 pm.. 

Join us on September 7th 2019 – downtown – as we celebrate the Gold Rush in Villa Rica.  In 1826, gold was discovered near Villa Rica.  The Gold Rush Festival is the community’s way of celebrating unique local history.

While we may be away from the Museum, we will be bringing part of the Pine Mountain Gold Museum experience with us!  Learn how to pan for gold, or see our interactive mineral and gemstone display.  Get your own mining helmet, or renew your annual pass!  Stay and talk to one of our tour guides about the history of the Georgia Gold Rush.

This year we are hosting our first ever Cornhole Tournament from 1:00PM to 3:00PM. The tournament will be located near the Gold Nugget Drop Tower.  Play will be by A.C.A. rules, singles, and doubles. Winners in both categories will earn CASH PRIZES!  Registration for the tournament is open now, and is $10.00 per person. Start practicing now! Call the Mine Office directly at 678.840.1445 to register.  Remember, no alcohol, – the tournament is family friendly!
